Who we are

We are a collective of Northcote residents committed to building a friendly, thriving, resilient, community. Our group is dedicated to creating a neighbourhood where everyone feels a sense of pride, safety, and connection—a place we all love to call home.

Why we have come together

Our community is rich with diversity, culture, and potential. We believe that by connecting with each other, sharing resources, and working together, we can make Northcote an even better place to live. Our goal is to build on the strengths already present in our community, foster new relationships, and ensure that Northcote remains a welcoming and supportive environment for all.

What we want to make happen

We want to organise free, regular, community-focused events and activities that bring people together, as well as share and promote all the great clubs, groups and events happening in the area.  By doing this, we aim to:​

 

• Strengthen connections: We aim to create opportunities for residents to meet, connect, and support each other, both digitally and in person

• Promote a thriving community: By encouraging local initiatives and celebrating our diverse culture, we strive to make Northcote a place where people want to live, work, and play

• Enhance safety and well-being: We want Northcote to be a neighbourhood where everyone feels safe and supported

• Encourage community-led initiatives: From organising events to supporting local champions, we believe in initiatives by the community, for the community

• Support sustainable living: We aim to promote sustainability through education and local projects focused on zero waste and eco-friendly practices

How you can contribute​

 

• Join us: Attend our monthly meetings to share your ideas and connect with neighbours

• Become a champion: Lead or support a community project that you’re passionate about

• Spread the Word: Help us reach more residents by sharing our vision and activities within your networks

• Volunteer: Offer your skills, time, or resources to help make our initiatives successful

• Participate in events: Join in our community events, whether it’s a street party, park run, sustainability workshop or whatever fun activity we can think of!
